Hello Little Acorn Families

All of your kiddos are just so adorable, it was hard to narrow down to the very best ones!

Each gallery will have anywhere around 6+ images for you to choose from.

Some kids only give me one expression, some give me lots, some give me wide open eyes with no smile, others give me a huge smile but with squinty eyes. I have seen it all!

My main goal when photographing kids is to get as many different expressions as I can. This way you get to decide which expression is "the one." Below are the things I do and say to elicite a myriad of looks:

To capture a pensive expression (this gives wide open eyes but maybe no smile) with “what do you see in the lens right here? Sometimes a rainbow, sometimes your reflection, and sometimes a little flicker.” Some kiddos told me they saw their favorite animal! ;-) But mostly they saw a rainbow or their reflection. You can ask them what they saw!

For the smile face I asked them “Who is someone who will love this image of you?” And then I watch their face light up and I click, click, click the shutter in rapid-fire to get all the goodness. Sometimes I asked them, "What is something you like to eat?" Then I count down 1, 2, 3, and they say “pizzaaaa!” or “cookies!” or “candy!” This yields open mouth smiles and the traditional “cheese” face too.

Optional Silly Face. I ask them if they want to do a silly face. For those who do, I find sometimes it's just the ticket to loosen them up if they didn't want to smile previously.

Sometimes I finish out with what I call throw away images by asking them to look down at my fingers and not at the camera. I love to attempt to get those amazing eye-lashes on the kiddos just in case that is an image of your kiddo you’ve never seen before and might want. It doesn’t always work because the kids have been so trained to look into the camera! Ha!

Good luck choosing your favorite!! My goal is to make you want them all! (Insert Cruella Deville laughter) ;-)
